Winter Dart League 2024-2025

  1. The games played will be 301 open in/open out (reverse Handicapped up to 406), and cricket open in/open out, single bull only, 501 on 13” board, and shall remain all season.
  2. Players may use their own darts as long as they are unaltered factory issued darts and tips, which do not exceed 25 grams in total weight.
  3. All games have foul lines positioned 96 inches horizontally from the face of the dart-board. A player may shoot anywhere behind the line, left right or on the line, but not past it. Players will however be allowed to lean over the foul line.
  4. A dart thrown that sticks, but does not score will not be manually scored. A dart thrown that misses the board, or does not stick, will be counted as a throw, either as a missed throw by the dart detector equipped on the game or by the players.
  5. The dart machine is always right, but if a machine is malfunctioning the two captains can agree to:
    a. Continue play
    b. Go to a neutral location that has a free dart-board,
    c. Reschedule a make up game
    d. Call for the technician on the number from the machine and wait for arrival
  6. Teams will consist of 4 players and up to 3 subs for each team. Each player will participate in 7 games each week. Matches will consist of 13 games of which 8 games are 301 open in/open out, and 4 games of cricket open in/open out and a team game of 501 open in/open out on the 13 inch board located on the back side
    for the final game.
  7. In the event of an absent player, a substitute may be used. Subs may not have substituted for another team. Once a substitute starts a game, they must be allowed to finish all the games in their entirety.
  8. No player will be allowed to change teams once the league has started.
  9. Only a player who is a substitute may change teams with written permission from both team captains. And said player may only once per league season.
  10. Teams will receive one point per win.
  11. Total team points determine standings. Forfeits will result in and automatic loss of 3-10. Any team that forfeits 3 times will by removed from the league.
  12. Abuse of equipment, poor sportsmanship, unethical conduct, heckling by opponents, may be grounds for forfeiture of game, match or expulsion from the league.
  13. Any player that has been barred from a location previous to the start of the season shall use a substitute player in their place on the scheduled date they are to throw at that particular location.
  14. It is the player’s responsibility to see that the dart machine is displaying the player’s position prior to throwing any darts. If a player throws out of turn when the machine displaying anyone else’s turn, the opponent has the option of accepting that score and allowing to the original players turn and continue play. To continue, or “rounding out” the dart machine to the original players turn and continue play.
    Opponent has option to have violator or round.

Example: Player 3 mistakenly throws out of turn on player 4. Player 4 can accept that score and the game moves to player 1. The result being that player 3 has lost the opportunity to score in that round. OR reset the game to player 3. Player 3 throws, the game moves to player 4. The result being that player 4 has received a ” Player 4 can round double scoring opportunity in that round.

  1. In the event of a protest, the procedure and ruling will apply as follows:
    a. The ruling of league officials is FINAL.
    b. The officials will consist of representative of Universal Amusement, and a location owner.
    c. If a protest involves a league official, or a member of an official’s team, that official does not have a vote in the contest.
    d. Both captains will be contacted to present their side of the protest. The officials will then reach a decision, and will contact the captains about their ruling.
    e. We can only accept issues that are controllable by the league.
  2. Team standing will be updated weekly before next week’s games.
  3. There is a 16-dollar throwing fee (4 dollars per person) each night. Teams are responsible for the total money regardless of how many players show up.
  4. Freeze rule: The freeze rule applies when one player is ready to “dart out” but the team member has a higher score than the 2 opponents combined. What happens is the player ready to dart out will LOSE the game.
  5. A player may pass on any or all dart throws in his turn.
  6. In the event of a year end tie, a tie breaker is decided by total head to head wins to determine a winner.
  7. The captains and all players should understand these league rules before they begin throwing.
  8. The captains shall make sure their players are shooting in proper order.
  9. The captains are responsible for collecting all monies from their own team.
  10. Player eligibility: Players ranked in the top 30 or higher on state or national level is forbidden to throw in this league.
  11. Game times are always 2:00 pm on Sundays. Teams will have 5 minutes to show up without any penalties. At 2:20 if opposing team fails to arrive or begin games are forfeited. If extenuating circumstances exists, please use digression and captains can consent to make up the game within 2 weeks. Please contact league official to notify change.
  12. Any modifications or additions to any of the above rules will be delivered to your captains in writing. It is the captains’ responsibility to inform their own team of these changes.
  13. All teams not using Universal Amusement equipment will be subject to a $100 fee per team to recover costs, some of which will be used for end of the year party.
  14. To obtain the $500.00 grand prize, 8 teams of 4 must play a minimum of 16
    weeks.
